“A wonderful, quiet, peaceful place full of goodwill and spirituality. It is a joy to be here and a great credit to Pramukh Swami Maharaj, BAPS and all concerned with the creation of this fantastic place. I came two years ago to see the Mandir – the gardens and Akshardham were a huge building site. To create such beauty out of a building site is truly God’s work.” - 08/11/05

Tony McNulty
Minister of State in the Home Office, United Kingdom

“When I first set my eyes upon the temple, I was taken aback -- almost out of breath. It is one of the most beautiful places I have seen in the entire world. To see all the time and all the love that went into creating this entire complex – it’s almost beyond words.”

“As an American, Christian senator, this is something that opened my eyes to a brand new world and gave me new understanding of something I had very little understanding of. It is something I am very interested in and very impressed with. I am almost humbled by the experience. I have been to the capital of my own religion. I am a Catholic. I have had the opportunity to meet the Pope. I have seen St. Peter’s Cathedral, and this is as awe-inspiring as that. It is definitely a place that members of your religion and of my religion will come to see as a pilgrimage. It is going to be one of those sites that you are going to have to visit in your lifetime in order to understand it -- there is no way that pictures, movies, or even my description could describe what I have just seen in the last few hours. I would certainly encourage anyone, if they have the opportunity to come here to Delhi, to see this incredible work of love and tribute because it is something that you will never forget and will always inspire you for the rest of your life.”

“I am so overwhelmed by what I am seeing, it is hard to put into words exactly the feelings that I have, but there is no doubt that this could not have been created, this labour could not have been undertaken, without a very loving, peaceful, and awe-inspiring individual who had a dream, who inspired millions to create a new wonder of the world. I can only say that the labour of love that has gone into this has shown me that there must be some great love and peace in the heart of the leader, Pramukh Swamiji.” -09/11/05

Senator John Gianetti
State Senator of Maryland, USA

“Akshardham in Delhi represents, I think, the most important spiritual and cultural monument to come up in north India in modern times because it is not just a temple to a single guru or sampraday; it’s an embodiment of the best of the Hindu culture and Vedic civilisation. And it also expresses it with such exquisite artistry, detail and so much attention has gone into it that it must have a transforming effect on every visitor that comes. I think this is a monument for all of India, all of Hindu dharma, that can really change, awaken India and spread its blessing throughout the whole world.”

“Akshardham is a monument not only for the past of India but also to the future of India. It takes all that is the greatest and most wonderful from its past and it shows it as living today and as a guideline for the future - particularly relevant for the youth and children.”

“I think Akshardham, you may say, is the gateway to the essence of ancient India and the great India of the future to come. All visitors can go through that gateway and contact the eternal India of the past, present and future.” -11/10/05

Dr. David Frawley (Vamadev Shastri)
Renowned Author and Hindu Scholar

“This is something! A part of the finest art, really. And it is not small- not yards or meters - This is acres! That’s why this is unusual. I have seen a lot of churches or mosques or whatever, but I have never seen anything like this.” -30/10/05

Hassan Salman Kamal
Director General of the National Council of Culture, Arts and Literature; Bahrain

“I think that the very calm spiritual element that people will experience coming here will make them reflect upon their own duty in life and how they can contribute to the life of others.” - 21/10/05

Dr. Kakkar, Jr
BARTS Hospital, Dept. of Surgery, London

“First of all, it’s incredibly inspiring. I have seen extraordinary sites, ancient temples and things like that -- but something on this scale, with architecture that is thousands of years old, done on this scale in today’s world is just extraordinary. I can’t imagine anything that’s its equal. I have been to the temples of Karnack in Egypt, and this is on the same kind of scale, the same level of ambition. And the fact that it’s been achieved by people who are devoted, and, I think, extraordinarily creative and organized – I mean, just the logistical part of it – it just seems like an impossibility. And yet, it has been done with such a great spirit of cooperation. I just think it is an extraordinary achievement. I really applaud what has been done here.” -

Sam Cardon
World-renowned, EMMY award-winning Composer

“This is a remarkable place. My wife read the article in 'Namaskar' (in-flight magazine, AIR INDIA) and saw the photographs in it but what we saw today is far more beautiful than described there. I have missed some of the shows and I will come back again. It is my wife who brought us here today. And I must say it has been the greatest gift to us. It has been a very enriching experience. One has to really see it to believe it."

Mark Tucker
CFO, Prudential Insurance, London, UK

“The message is outstanding & universal. The means to disseminate the message to all is excellent. And, of course, the temple and all the buildings and facilities are beautiful and artfully crafted. My husband & I enjoyed the entire “experience”. Thank you for sharing it with us. Our volunteer guide was wonderful.”

Mara S. Giulianti
Mayor of Hollywood, FL, USA
